Story, without spoilers
Former rapper Anas starts teaching at a cultural centre in a working-class district of Casablanca. He asks his students to turn their experiences into words and performance. Their growing confidence meets expectations at home and outside, making artistic expression part of their everyday negotiations.
Context & recognition
Nabil Ayouch developed the fiction with young people at the Sidi Moumen cultural centre. Combining classroom exchanges with musical sequences, the film entered the main competition at Cannes in 2021.
